Passengers Allowed to Take Hand-woven Carpets up to 24 sq m.and Rugs up to 40 sq m Abroad

Nouraei & Mostafavi Law Offices -29 August 2022- Tehran- Iran- The Amendment of Article (139) of the Executive Regulations of the Iranian Law on Customs Affairs  No. H59713T/88438  dated 26/5/1401 (17 August 2022), signed by the First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, was published today in the Farsi- language Official Gazette.

According to the gazette, the Council of Ministers in the meeting dated 19/05/1401(10 August 2022). In light of the proposal of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and based on Article 138 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran. approved that:

The following text is added as Note (2) to Article (139) of the Executive Regulations of the Law on Customs Affairs and the title of the previous note is amended to Note (1):

Note 2- Each passenger can take up to (24) square meters of Iranian hand-woven carpets and up to (40) square meters of hand-woven rugs (Kilim) out of the country and there will be no limit on the number of pieces of carpets and rugs taken by the passenger within the mentioned size ceilings.
