Iran allows the importation of all iPhone brands with a high commercial benefit levy.

Nouraei & M. Mostafavi Law Offices – November 2,2024-Tehran- In a new move, the Iranian government lifted the ban on importing and registering iPhone smartphones.

In light of Iran’s National Mobile Registry plan, all imported mobile phones should be registered to curb the smuggling of phones into the country.

According to the decree No. H63305T/119705 dated 9/8/1403 (30 October 2024) of the Council of Ministers: “The import of any type of smart mobile phones with the Apple brand is allowed with a commercial benefit levy of (96) percent.”

The Commercial Benefit Levy is a changeable tax based on the value of imported goods that the government determines. Such a levy aims to protect domestic production, regulate foreign trade, and generate income for the government.
