Import of Mint Condition Secondhand Mining and Construction Machinery of Reputable Global Brands Allowed
Nourlaw.com- Tehran-25 May 2017- According the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette of today, import of secondhand mining and construction machinery which are still in good condition is now permitted.
The Council in its decree No. H53126T/22178 Dated 30/2/1396 (20 May 2017) has stated that import and clearance from customs of mint condition secondhand mining and construction machinery, bearing a well-recognized global brand, shall be possible with the foreign exchange of the applicant only for a period up to the end of the year 1397 (20 March 2019). For import of the said machinery the pre-condition of having an authorized representative in Iran does not need to be observed, provided that no more than five years have passed since the machinery was manufactured.
The decree also allows import of secondhand transport tractors with engines of more than 500 hp. One essential condition for the tractors is they must have the requisite safety and performance standards recognized by the Iran National Standard Organization.
